Tricky Twenty-Two is the new Stephanie Plum novel by Janet Evanovich.
This vivacious and imaginative author has been able to keep up her masterly work about Stephanie Plum and her odd bunch of associates, for 22 books.
Set in Trenton, New Jersey, this is an exciting romp on the wild side. No matter what threatens her, our Stephanie never seems to have a hair out of place. But the crime to be solved here is a particularly nasty one.
As I’ve been chewing my nails worrying about the terrible possibilities ahead for them, Stephanie Plum, bounty hunter and her side-kick, big blousy and rough Lula, charge ahead without a care in the world for their own safety.
Thankfully we know from her other novels, that no lasting harm will happen to our heroine.
Gun-toting Grandma Mazur causes huge problems as usual, this time she’s substituted Stephanie’s name for hers whilst having lots of fun on an internet dating site, with somewhat dramatic results for poor Stephanie.
Morelli her sometime boyfriend is an exciting character, Ranger the security expert, her other (sort-of) boyfriend, is the utter gentleman of this rough gang.
“Something big is brewing in Trenton, N.J., and it could blow at any minute.”
Why read it?: Tricky Twenty-Two is an exciting romp, it’s very funny and something amazing happens on each of the 280 pages.
It’s a ton of fun to feel that we know these crazy quirky characters whom we would be absolutely terrified to meet in real life.
Pat’s final verdict: This is very entertaining novel. I felt sorry when I reached the end. I could read it again. Read a free sample here.
