Must-see movie: Still Alice
'Still Alice' is a drama based on Lisa Genova's 2007 bestselling novel of the same name.
The film stars Julianne Moore as lead character Alice, a role that has now landed her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress.
The movie depicts Alice, a vibrant and accomplished college professor diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease.
The all-star line up includes Alec Baldwin as Alice's husband John as well as Kristen Stewart, Kate Bosworth, and Hunter Parrish as her children Lydia, Anna, and Tom.
The story shines a light on a difficult subject, the heartbreak of a disease stealing a mother from her job, friends, family and herself as the Alzheimer's slowly destroys her mind.
The film had its world premiere at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2014. Moore's performance has so far earned her a Golden Globe for Best Actress - Motion Picture Drama and could now also see the 54-year-old actress score an Oscar for Best Actress In A Leading Role.
'Still Alice' is available for purchase on DVD or for download.
