Based on the historical novels by Winston Graham, Poldark is set in the sociopolitical backdrop of 18th-Century England. Duels, smuggling, and attempted murders unfold as protagonist Ross Poldark strives to resurrect his fortunes and find true love.

Season One
After the American Revolution, Captain Ross Poldark returns to Cornwall to find his life at home has fallen apart. He finds his father dead, his estate in ruins, and his sweetheart Elizabeth betrothed to his cousin Francis, resulting in heartbreaking circumstances.

In addition, Poldark must also contend with his fetching new housekeeper and the family copper mines which threaten to fall into the hands of his greatest archenemy.

Season Two
Returning home after his arrest in the finale of series one, Ross soon faces a new fight for freedom when George Warleggan tries desperately to steal his mine and have him hanged as a revolutionary.

Crippled by debts, Ross and Francis strive to heal old wounds by joining forces in a new venture, while buried passions threaten to bubble to the surface once again.

Amid catastrophic losses, significant triumphs and shattered relationships, they must learn to settle their differences once and for all, but at what cost?
