Last month, Sunrise star Samatha Armytage shared the heartbreaking news that her parents had been hospitalised.
She explained to viewers that her mum Libby was “gravely ill” with heart failure, where her father Mac had recently suffered a stroke.
The turmoil forced Armytage to take some time off, but has shared some exciting news.
Her father is heading home after recovering in rehab at Sydney's St Vincent Hospital.
“So this just happened… after a stroke and four weeks in rehab,” Armytage captioned a video of her dad triumphantly walking out of the facility.
“It’s not a bad day… you beauty!” he responds.
“I cannot send enough emoji love hearts to all the wonderful nurses, Physios and OTs at St Vincent’s Hospital,” Armytage adds in another post.
Her mum is still in hospital as she battles a serious auto-immune disease.
“Mum has an auto-immune disease, she has had it for about 15 years, and it’s attacking her heart now,” Armytage said on air last month.
