The Anzac Run returns - 2015
The Anzac run returns in 2015 with the Melbourne run on 12th April and Brisbane on 19th April, in the lead up to the Anzac Day.
Between 2014 and 2018 Australia will commemorate the Anzac Centenary, marking 100 years since our nation’s involvement in the First World War. To celebrate the centenary year, ‘The Anzac Run’ is being held once again, this April.
The community is being encouraged to participate with family, friends and work colleagues in the spirit of commemoration. At the finish there will be a range of activities, including military bands, live music and displays.
The 2015 runs hope to enrich the community’s understanding of the ANZAC legend, and further reinforce the message of mateship, integrity and commitment - the very essence of what it means to be an Australian.
Participants will be encouraged to either run or walk the 5km or 10km distance, which is also heavily focussed on raising awareness and financial support for the charities ‘BeyondBlue’and ‘Mates4Mates’. These fantastic organisations provide education, support and assistance for those suffering from post-traumatic stress and depression
