Win 1 of 15 CDs of the 'Red Dog: True Blue' soundtrack
Following up to the film that captured the hearts of Australians nationwide and became an instant Aussie classic comes the prequel to Red Dog, Red Dog: True Blue.
Exploring the early events that led up to Red Dog’s discovery on the road to Dampier, the film is a heart-warming tale about a young boy and a scrappy one-of-a-kind dog that would grow up to become an Australian legend. It's an iconic Australian story of family, friendship and adventure.
Featuring the music of The Easybeats, The Travelling Wilburys and award-winning Australian composer Cezary Skubiszewski, this is the perfect soundtrack to take on the road or for simply enjoying some great Aussie tunes.
In order to capture the emotional spirit of the first film, the producers approached Cezary Skubiszewski, whose beautiful score embodies the warmth of Red Dog. "It was great to work with the same team of people again," recalled Skubiszewski.
"The film's director Kriv Stenders, the editor Jill Bilcock and the producers Nelson Woss and Mark Van Buuren were all very supportive and involved in the creative process. I followed the same general idea with the instrumentation as I did in Red Dog: the main instrument, an electric guitar, was played very delicately with the fingers and not with a plectrum. However, this time the score required a larger orchestral sound to reflect the depth of the story and the panoramic visuals."
Music is such an important aspect to the Red Dog films. Apart from Skubiszewski's inspirational original score, the producers again pursued songs that capture the spirit of Red Dog.
"When you listen to it, we hope it inspires you to go and pursue the things you love," says Red Dog: True Blue producer Nelson Woss. "Take it on road trips, share it with family and friends, and hopefully, like us, it will help you find your home!"
Red Dog: True Blue hits Australian cinemas on Boxing Day this year. The soundtrack from the new film is available now.
