Australia Post has addressed an incident where a security camera captured the moment a delivery went horribly wrong.

In a video uploaded to Reddit, a delivery van was seen pulling into a person’s driveway and appearing to park on Wednesday.

Only a few moments later the driver is seen walking up to the front door to deliver the parcel, while, unbeknownst to him, the van begins to move forward, before crashing into the resident’s garage.

Speaking to 7News, a spokesperson for Australia Post said they were aware an employee had been “involved in an incident in a customer’s driveway”.

“We immediately engaged with the customer to apologise for the inconvenience and to organise repair of the damage,” the spokesperson added.

The Reddit user who posted the video said Australia Post insurance will be paying for the garage’s repair.

“No one was hurt and no cars were in the garage,” the user wrote.

The user added the incident was a “frustratingly stupid” mistake but he commended the driver for owning up to the crash.

“He called his manager who knew what had happened, so he owned up. Though I did offer footage and he said they shouldn’t need it,” he said.
