Former Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo has shared a touching update on his battle with brain cancer.

The 32-year-old revealed last month that the brain cancer had returned after he was in remission.

He shared the update on Instagram on Sunday and thanked fans for their support.

“Thank you so much for all the support, You guys have helped keep my spirits high and you keep me fighting,” he wrote.

“Let’s smash this chemo.”

Friends of the star offered their support on the post, cheering him on.

Lynne McGranger said: “Sending so much love to you my darling friend. Let’s catch up again soon.”

Ruffo initially announced he had undergone surgery to remove a brain tumour in 2017, which was discovered when he was hospitalised for a migraine.

During an interview in 2019, he declared he was cancer-free but the disease, unfortunately, came back this year in the form of “seizures and excruciating headaches”.
