You’ve seen the legendary Japanese monster on your screens – but next year, you will be able to see them up close in person.

The Nijigen no Mori theme park on Awaji Island in Hyogo prefecture will launch a Godzilla-themed area in 2020, complete with a full-size replica of the giant lizard from the movies.

Visitors will be able to explore around and inside the 20 meters high, 25 meters wide and 55 meters long beast. Some other activities or “missions” that visitors can try at “Godzilla Interception Operation” include a zipline heading right into the monster’s mouth and a shooting game.

The theme park is aptly situated on Awaji Island, the site of Godzilla’s first sighting at the beginning of the Meiji era.

According to the theme park’s website, as a typhoon hit the island the monster “appeared with the high waves, roamed the island, causing tremendous damage”.
