- Circular Quay, The Rocks, Walsh Bay
Vivid Sydney, the annual event of light, music and ideas, is one of the largest festivals of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever. Vivid 2013 had the honour of winning an Australian event of the year award having attracted around 800,000 visitors.
Vivid 2014 is offering even more, this time featuring interactive light displays including the ‘Move Your Building’ exhibit where spectators control the light projecting onto a building in the city with their own body movements.
Vivid this year navigates new territory as it stretches out onto Sydney Harbour itself where commercial vessels will be lit up in an ever-changing kaleidoscope of colours.
Vivid will again feature an outdoor 'gallery' of extraordinary lighting sculptures, a compelling contemporary music program, and some of the world's most important creative industry educational forums and, of course, the spectacular illumination of the Sydney Opera House sails.
The event is giving people of all generations a very good reason to get rugged up, take advantage of Sydney’s mid-winter weather and head out for a unique evening of visual treats that cast the Harbour City in its best light!
Tickets: Free for outdoor exhibitions; for selected ticketed event information see link above.
