4 Ingredients: Shepherd's Pie

Serve up the perfect winter warmer dish with just only four ingredients!


500g lean beef mince
300g fruit chutney
800g potatoes, peeled, boiled and mashed
¾ cup (75g) grated cheddar cheese


1. Preheat oven 180˚C.

2. In a nonstick frying pan over moderate heat, brown the mince, season and stir through chutney. Reduce heat and simmer for 8 minutes.

3. Pour into a casserole dish, top evenly with mashed potato and sprinkle with grated cheese (a combination of cheddar and parmesan is also nice).

4. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until cheese is nice and bubbly.


Slice a tomato or two over the mince before topping with potato or finely chop in any number of vegies to the mix. It’s the delicious sweet and savoury flavour of the chutney that the children like. Serve with healthy steamed greens.
