Carrie Bickmore and Waleed Aly have returned to The Project, and the pair have already started making “Not Safe For Work” jokes live on air.

The panellists, along with show regular Peter Helliar, couldn’t help themselves when presenting a news story about Gwyneth Paltrow’s vagina candle exploding in somebody’s living room.

“Gwyneth Paltrow’s vagina candle is living up to the description of being, quote ‘beautifully unexpected’, said Carrie.

“A British woman’s exploded into flames and caused an inferno in her living room. Jody Thompson says she’s never seen anything like it, with flames half a metre in the air.”

Carrie was expecting the story to end on a tragic note, but was relieved when she found out that wasn’t the case.

“When I saw the headline, ‘vagina candle explodes’, I thought the outcome was more dire. I’m relieved, that’s all I’m saying.”

“Luckily she didn’t burn her curtains,” Helliar quipped.

“Somehow, for some reason, inferno is not the most offensive thing in that story, it’s the vagina scented candle. Does your house smell like vagina forever? The walls?” asked co-panellist Jan Fran.

“How are you using your candle, Carrie?” asked Helliar.

“You said off air you would share your personal experience which says to me you have an experience,” Waleed asked the blonde beauty.

“We’ve run out of time. I don’t think Pete can handle it,” she replied.

“You’ve been in a flap about this story all day.”

“See what I mean? Alright.”

Carrie returned to the show after her Christmas break, donning a shorter hairdo.

The TV host showed off her cropped and bleached style.

“Your hair looks amazing – pure beauty,” one viewer commented, while another wrote: “Yay you’re back. Love your hair. Welcome back.”

“You look fantastic love your new hairdo.”

“I love your hair Carrie, it looks amazing. I wish I could rock your look.”
