In honour of Olivia Newton-John, two musical powerhouses have delivered an emotional tribute to the late entertainer.

While on their world tour, British rock band Coldplay were joined on stage at London’s Wembley Stadium by singer Natalie Imbruglia to perform a hit song from Grease.

Together, they performed the track Summer Nights to the 90,000-strong crowd, with the audience singing along to every word.

For their rendition, Imbruglia handled the role of Sandy while Coldplay’s Chris Martin sang the part of John Travolta’s character, Danny, duetting on its shared chorus along with Jacob Collier.

Before the tribute to Olivia, Coldplay and Imbruglia also performed Torn, which Imbruglia popularised when she released her version of the Ednaswap song as her debut single in 1997.

Natalie Imbruglia was among the thousands of entertainers to pay tribute to Olivia Newton-John after she died of breast cancer at age 73, writing an emotional post online.

She said, “Devastated to hear of the passing of Olivia Newton John. When I was a little girl I used to close my eyes and sing her songs and dream of one day being on a stage somewhere, singing, just like her. She was magic.”

“A huge inspiration to me and so many other young kids who where singing into their hairbrush.”
