Footage of the beloved Princess Diana playing the piano during her and Prince Charles’ 1988 tour of Australia has resurfaced, sending royal fans into a frenzy.

The video sourced from the Nine News archives captured the effervescent couple during a visit to the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne.

Prince Charles and Princess Diana are seen in a room filled with music students, staff and other members of the media.

Then 26-year-old Di is seen gently taking a seat at the piano where she gives an impromptu performance.

She effortlessly plays Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2.

Charles, who was 39 at the time, was also seen attempting to play the cello.

The royal tour that included Princess Diana polishing off the ivories was part of their 1988 visit to Australia.

It came five years after the couple first visited Australia together – a tour which remarkably included Prince William when he was just a toddler.
