Prince Charles is “thrilled” his father, Prince Philip, has returned home after spending a month hospitalised.

During a visit to a pop-up vaccination centre in London on Tuesday, the Prince of Wales reacted to the news.

“I am thrilled about it,” he said.

When asked if he had spoken to his father since he left King Edward VII Hospital, Charles replied: “Oh yes, I have spoken to him several times.”

Just a few hours after the 99-year-old was discharged from hospital, Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, paid a visit to Finsbury Park Mosque in London.

Prince Charles was the only one to visit his father in hospital because he is the only one who has received the coronavirus vaccine.

The 72-year-old took a four-hour round-trip from his home at Highgrove to visit his dad after his first few days in hospital.

Prince Philip underwent a procedure for a pre-existing heart condition before being transferred back to the private facility to continue his treatment and recovery.
