Jess Rowe has revealed she feels “devastated” over some heartbreaking news about her cat, Violet.

The former Studio 10 host took to Instagram on Tuesday, saying that her family’s grey and white cat has a “nasty” form of cancer and her days are numbered.

After posting a series of cute photos of the feline on her social media account, Jess wrote, “Spending as much time with Violet as we can.”

“She has nasty cancer and will be joining Alfie at the rainbow bridge soon.”

She added that Violet was the “best bell ringer in town” in her emotional tribute.

Jess has thrown some extravagant birthday parties for Violet over the year, as Jess is a self-confessed “crazy cat lady”.

For Violet’s birthday in 2019, she pulled out all the stops for the celebration, as she even baked a tuna cake and decorated her house with giant gold balloons.

Jess said she has often FaceTimed Violet when she’s away from home, always doting on her furry friend.

Between giving Violet an elaborate pamper session (complete with cucumbers on her eyes), and ‘asking’ Violet to listen to Jess’ podcast, she has been a key member of the Rowe household.

During a segment on Studio 10 in 2015, Jess called her husband Peter Overton live on air to ask if they could adopt another cat, to which he firmly responded “no”.

No word yet on whether Pete has changed his mind.
