A carpet python startled motorists just trying to fuel their cars after it emerged from a bin at a petrol pump in a service station.

A customer shared the photo to Reddit of the carpet python sneaking out of the bin after filling up at the bowser.

It’s currently unknown where in Australia the photo was taken, but it has since gone viral.

Carpet pythons live almost everywhere in Australia except for Tasmania and sightings have become more frequent as the weather heats up.

The pythons aren’t venomous but can still cause damage if you’re bitten by one, including deep puncture wounds.
