The couple’s happy news quickly went viral, with the post racking up over 150,000 likes.

Tennis champion Jelena Dokic posted, “Congratulations Ash, so happy for you”.

Nedd Brockmann, the loveable tradie who ran across Australia and raised nearly $2 million, wrote, “Yes ash!!! How exciting!”

Barty shocked the world in 2022 with news of her retirement from tennis following a huge win at The Australian Open, but still had an impressive year.

She married her long-time partner Garry Kissick, released a series of children’s books, wrote an autobiography, and capped off the year winning the Newcombe Medal as Australia best tennis player and Sport Australia’s The Don Award.
