After an extensive land and air search, a grandmother who went missing in Western Australia has been found after two days missing.

Christine Irvine, 75, who suffers from dementia was found and taken to hospital for assessment.

She had disappeared from her Cundinup property, about 212km south of Perth, and had been missing since last Wednesday.

Jennifer Irvine told 9News her parents were gardening just before her mother vanished.

Police, including air and land assets and SES volunteers, began a major search operation after Irvine was reported missing by her family.

The area surrounding the property is hilly and the bushland is dense, with the search covering a 3km radius of bushland and river banks.

Police found the woman safe and well and thanked everyone who took part in the search, as well as media outlets for covering the incident.
