A missing 6-year-old boy from Perth has died in hospital after being found in critical condition.

The child, identified only as Joey, vanished from the suburb of Booragoon in the WA capital’s south at around 4pm on Sunday.

Police raised the alarm for those living nearby to keep an eye out for Joey, describing him as being 120cm tall with a “thin build, tanned skin, blond mullet haircut with blue eyes”, and said he “may have no clothing and not respond when spoken to”.

Just 90 minutes after Joey was reported missing, he was found in a nearby property in a critical condition, with police carrying out first aid before he was treated by St John Ambulance paramedics and rushed to Fiona Stanley Hospital.

Despite doctors best efforts, WA Police confirmed to news.com.au that Joey tragically died in hospital overnight.

According to 9News, Joey suffered critical injuries after being found in a pool.

WA Police were unable to confirm whether a press conference on the tragedy would be held today.
